This is my new toy that I bought from a surplus sale govliquidation. I had to recover from the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama, posing as a 13-hour trip up and even more on the way back. The trailer is a M118A1 3 / 4 tons and is driven perfectly behind Toyota Highlander Hybrid. If I had the time, came to work on the generator, the first thing I found was battery. I had my M1008A1 CUCV military truck and a set of jumper cables that hooks in the military operation of NATOplug to jump start the generator. I spent the better part of a day cleaning out the fuel filter cans and replacing the old filters with new ones that I bought from NAPA. Since my fuel tank was rusty on the bottom and full of nasty looking diesel I decided to make use of some of the auxillary fuel system components that I found inside of the locked storage box on the front of the trailer. I had to assemble the fuel line which took me a while to figure out - the fittings all came with the fuel line but had to be installed on the hose itself. I had a fresh jerry can of diesel on my M35A2C that I used to start the generator for the first time. Although there are bleeder screws at the top of each fuel filter, I preferred to remove the fuel lines coming out of each filter can and then allow fuel to pump from each can; at that point I would hook up the next filter and continue on down the line.
